| Fun Day 2008 |

For many years now the Rotary Club of Sandton, with the assistance of Interactors from Redhill, Northview and Crawford, played hosts to over 400 mentally and some physically challenged children and adults. The day was filled with happy faces - either trying desperately to pin the tail on the giraffe, throw a tennis or ping-pong ball into tins of all shapes and sizes, and even trying their hand at golf - what a good time was had by all, each with their packet of winnings - prizes by the thousand for winning something. The tug-of-war as usual was one of the highlights - Cluney Farm always coming out winners being the stronger or tougher team - not sure which - anyway lots of fun and lots of prizes. The indoor hockey game in the hall was later pushed aside to make way for the disco and the Interactors taught the guests the new "moves".
Just so that you know how much this day is appreciated by those who came - here is a letter from one of the homes:
THANK YOU. We would like to thank you for your benevolence in never failing to remember us. This has become an event on our year calendar to which our learners look forward to attending with great anticipation. |
